Food to eat in Malta

If you love good food, then you’re in for a treat in Malta – it truly is a foodie destination with something for everyone. Dining here is very cosmopolitan and you’ll find that all cuisines are represented – from Chinese to Thai and Italian to Greek – all within very easy reach of Two Pillows, which is located in one of the island’s foodie capitals, Sliema.

Of course, Malta has its own flavours and dishes to celebrate too. Among its most popular is rabbit, which is fried in garlic or served stewed. Mgarr – a village in the north of the island – is famed for its rabbit dishes, and locals enjoy attending ‘fenkatas’ where this dish is served.

If that doesn’t take your fancy, then try the island’s simple street food – pastizzi. These pastry parcels are stuffed with ricotta cheese or peas, and are best enjoyed hot with a glass of sweet, steaming tea. Delicious!
